25 February 2013
The first F5J league event was hosted by GEMS at the GEMS field in Bapsfontein on the 23rd of February.
Conditions were perfect with a moderate breeze that favoured the heavier ships.
Thanks to all pilots that entered to make a nice sized field of competitors.
Thanks to Ivan for hosting and driving this discipline.
The second HTL event was hosted by Silverton Gliding Club at Silverton on the 17th of February.
Conditions started off windy and eventually moderated with huge patches of lift and the dreaded Siverton sink.
Thanks to Johan and Gordon for hosting and Izak for scoring.
The first league event was hosted at GEMS on the 27th January 2013.
The format was arrive and fly between 09h00 and 15h00 and fly 6 x 10 minute tasks.
Although this format is not popular with the 'man on man' guys it does attract newcomers.
This format is less stressful for newbies and allows more mentoring.
Thanks to Paul and Izak for hosting.
07 February 2013
The 2012 Postal league consisted of 4 rounds with no throw away. Format for 2013 remains the same, with two attempts allowed in the specific month as per the published calender - best attempt to count. Attempt can take place on any day in the specific month.
Thanks again to Izak Theron who is the 2013 co-ordinator for the Postal League
Due to a full gliding calender in 2012 - and hosting the F3J worlds, only four of the scheduled 8 events were flown and no throw aways apply.
The calender is once again busy and we have decided to schedule only 6 HTL events this year.
Congratulations to the winners and we hope to see you at the scheduled 5 remaining events for 2013.
The HTL representative for 2013 is Izak Theron. This year we hope that the organising load of these events will be shared down to club level, and I ask you all to co-operate with Izak to this end.
