Paper Plane Challenge - yes or no?

The last Thermal League of the year in Gauteng is traditionally a fun, fundraiser in support of Galaxy Children's Village in Heidelberg. And it is fun, but the numbers have been dropping over the years. The Thermal League too has been losing support and we're keen to breath a breathe of fresh air into this event (and the Thermal League in general).
I had this off-the-wall idea to start a paper plane challenge - we'd make it as fun as we can for the whole family and would sneak in some glider demos to try and attract new pilots to the hobby / sport.
This may be the perfect opportunity to test the idea.
Maybe pilots in other regions could organise similar events. Hint hint
We'd make the day a fun morning for the whole family. We'd still make it a fundraiser. And organise food and drink. And encourage hobby shops, friends and family or RC pilots to put a team together to prove their prowess.
For the hardcore glider pilots we could include an in-your-own-time thermal competition (assuming there's demand).
Who'd be keen to participate?
