An exhausted National F3J Team arrived back in SA on Tuesday afternoon, 8 July 2008. After months of preparation & practice, the 7th (seniors) and 5th (juniors) team results are the best achieved (to my knowledge) to date. Craig Goodrum (senior pilot) also achieved 5th place in the individual rankings in a very closely contested fly-off that had everyone rivited to their flying.
Following tremendous interest shown by the people at home, the team wishes to share some of their experiences with people interested in F3J and are in the process of preparing a presentation. The interest shown in SA has also prompted some discussion towards hosting the 2012 F3J world championships in SA, and more details will be discussed /published in due course.
Due to time limitations & professional/family commitments, a more comprehensive report & additional details will be made available in the near future. For now, suffice to say that I am immensely proud of the achievements of our teams, and that they have created a tremendous amount of goodwill amongst fellow competitor and organisers alike.
They are to be commended for their professional attitude towards the World Championships & congratulated on their results achieved.
Fly safely
